Mónica Diago Studio for Lumier – Apartment in Salamanca District
In the heart of the Salamanca district, on the emblematic General Oráa street in Madrid, lies this 208 m² apartment located on the fifth floor of a classic Madrid building. Currently undergoing a full renovation by Mónica Diago’s architecture studio, the project reinterprets the traditional Madrid apartment through a contemporary lens, respecting its original proportions, the quality of natural light, and a restrained elegance that defines each space.
It is within this setting that our Maya Gradient Oat rug takes on a leading role. Integrated into the living area, the rug helps structure the space while adding an extra layer of warmth and texture to an interior dominated by noble materials.
The rug acts as a unifying element within the whole, defining the seating area and providing comfort underfoot without detracting from the architectural features of the space. In a living room where light is one of the main protagonists, our rug introduces visual depth and softens the overall composition, balancing the elegance of the moldings, custom carpentry, and the classic elements restored during the renovation.
The result is a space where architecture, interior design, and materials coexist in harmony.
