We recognize the importance of taking concrete actions to minimize our impact on climate change. Our primary goal is to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and adopt more sustainable business practices in all aspects of our operations. Due to its impact on the entire value chain, this project is the most cross-cutting and involves all departments.
Reducing the Carbon Footprint
We aim to be completely carbon-neutral by 2028 and continue implementing more efficient and clean technologies in our manufacturing process through continuous improvement.
With clear and sunny days, Crevillent is an optimal area to harness renewable solar energy. Since early 2019, our factory has been operating on photovoltaic energy, using solar panels installed on the roofs of our facilities, which currently generate and supply a significant portion of our machinery’s energy needs. In 2023, we have reinvested in expanding our photovoltaic capacity with the goal of becoming fully self-sufficient in the coming years.
We internally recycle waste
We reuse surplus threads from other productions as the base thread for the backing of our carpets, contributing to greater internal efficiency. Additionally, we sell discontinued references and end-of-roll products on second-life marketplaces, which would otherwise end up in landfills or be incinerated.
We aim to reduce the impact of single-use plastic
Finding carpets made from sustainable materials can be challenging. Ensuring that these carpets are not packaged in plastic for transportation is an even greater challenge. You might be wondering what’s the point of buying an ultra-sustainable product if its packaging harms the planet. That’s why our packaging is in line with what’s inside. We always use recycled and recyclable plastic film.
We also avoid using plastic in our thread spools whenever possible. We use wooden spools for our threads that we reuse time and time again.
In shipping, all our samples and catalogs are sent in recycled cardboard boxes, and we have completely eliminated bubble wrap inside the boxes.
